In this webinar Dr. Geoff Hayward, CEO of DataGardens and Jim Palmeri, CEO of Agitare Technologies, Inc. talk about the best practices and factors companies should consider when moving to cloud-based Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service. Dr. Hayward will also provide a live demonstration of DataGardens DRaaS solution.
A revolution is happening in the disaster recovery industry. Companies are adopting cloud-based Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service at an astonishing rate. For instance, Gartner predicts that by the end of this year more than 30% of midsize companies will have made the switch. Most industry analysts estimate the current market at $6B with annual growth in excess of 55%.
Two factors are at stake. First, companies desperately need low recovery times but cannot afford the high cost of a dedicated recovery data center. By leveraging the cloud, they can amortize their capital and operating costs across a large subscriber base and, so, achieve a much more inexpensive solution. Second, disaster recovery is intrinsically challenging. After all, it’s about spinning up a replica data center in a remote site at a moment’s notice. Most companies don’t have the in-house expertise to provision and manage an in-house solution and many who attempt to do so find that their solutions don’t work when they are really needed. Relying on the expertise of a third-party cloud provider is very attractive to many companies.
